The Soundtrack of Our Lives is a pop-Broadway show starring American actors Deborah Rennard and Al Sapienza. They sing and dance, accompanied by films and slides in an autobiographical journey featuring hit songs of the 60s and 70s as they share stories of how these songs affected their lives and careers. The duo has performed all over the United States, including opening to an audience of 9,000 people for Peter Noone of Herman’s Hermits at the PNC Bank Arts Center, as well as Marilyn McCoo and Billy Davis Jr. of The Fifth Dimension. They have also taken their musical numbers abroad to Canada, Europe, and the Philippines, where they played for a live audience of 16,000 people, which streamed over thirty-three media outlets to 400,000 people. Soundtrack of Our Lives regularly returns to many beloved venues across the states, including The PNC Bank Arts Center, as well as the prestigious Myron’s Cabaret At the Smith Performing Arts Center in Las Vegas, Herb Alpert’s Vibrato Grill Jazz in Los Angeles, and iconic rock venue The Cutting Room in New York City.
The band is led by the highly acclaimed musical figure Joey Melotti, musical director of Liza Minnelli, Grammy-winning pop singer Michael Bolton, and, for the last thirty years, the phenomenal Barry Manilow. Melotti assembles the four-piece band of additional performers, all who are top-notch Broadway musicians.
Sapienza’s time in the musical spotlight started with character Ringo Starr in Broadway’s BEATLEMANIA, but he is best known for his role as Mikey Palmice in THE SOPRANOS and Marty Spinella in HOUSE OF CARDS. Living in New York but traveling wherever his craft calls, including the second season of Amazon Prime’s original series REACHER.
Deborah Rennard famously starred as Sly Lovegren in 186 episodes of DALLAS, co-starred with Jean Claude Van Damme in LIONHEART, and most recently appeared in the CBS pilot for EAST NEW YORK and in her leading role in Hulu’s original film APPENDAGE.
